Social Activities

Feeling connected to a community is essential towards building friendships and a sense of belonging. Our DSPs work with our clients to discover what social activities they are interested in, and encourage them to explore new opportunities to connect with their friends and families.

Transportation

Timeliness and safety in travel are key factors in self-reliance and also seeking or maintaining independence. We assist our clients with harboring awareness while traveling in public spaces and understanding available options for travel in their communities.

Hygiene Assistance

Big steps can be made in cultivating independence and confidence from just taking the time to keep yourself clean. We assist our clients with developing regular hygiene routines, so they can look and feel their best.

Banking & Budgeting

Control over finances and navigating in-person or online banking is a crucial tool in developing personal independence. Our DSPs work closely with our clients to integrate good banking habits and build a routine of monitoring personal expenses.

Shopping

Creating shopping lists, keeping the fridge and pantry stocked, and planning meals for the month is a big part of everyday life. Our DSPs help our clients navigate the ins-and-outs of grocery shopping, and working on independence in maintaining household supplies.

Schedule Building

Being organized and having organizational tools to help plan the week, or even the month, can help reduce the anxiety and stress that comes with accomplishing personal goals. Our clients gain the skillsets needed to keep their activites and weekly events organized to stay on track with their personal journeys.

And Other Activities of Daily Living...

The tasks a Direct Support Professional performs on duty will vary depending on a client's Individual Support Plan (ISP). For more information regarding DSP services while on-duty, please contact our Employee Relations Team.
